Regional Telemedicine Forum

REGIONAL TELEMEDICINEFORUM

Regional Telemedicine Forum (RTF) is a project financed from the INTERREG IVC Innovation and Environment Regions of Europe Sharing Solutions. The RTF project aims at contributing towards making European regions better capable of leading in telemedicine innovation and commercialisation. In this way the RTF project will help to instigate regional economic development and growth and thus to achieve the objectives of the Lisbon agenda. The RTF has the potential to provide a significant contribution to promotion of the development and implementation of telemedicine services and products.

The partnership of 9 European regions aims to release the potential of wider implementation and deployment of telemedicine services at the regional level. Over the three years the partners will organise workshops, four study visits and virtual meetings to focus on telemedicine services related to three major chronic diseases: diabetes, smokers’ lung disease, and cardiovascular disease.

Objective of the RTF project

The overall objective of the RTF project is to create a mixed network of advanced and less advanced European regions, aiming at identification and analysis of good practice of telemedicine at policy and strategy level. Hereby it contributes to making European regions better capable of leading in telemedicine innovation and commercialisation, through dissemination of good practice.
